Amara makes space for you to explore, discover and heal. She has been helping people on their journey of healing and self discovery for many years, with over ten years in private practice.
Before going into private practice Amara worked at different organisations, specialising in counselling for addictions, career counselling, crisis counselling, and counselling for complex trauma.
Having practiced meditation for many years, it is a very exciting time in the field of psychology now that the benefits mindfulness practices for mental health are understood. Being drawn to body-mind therapies and traditional healing methods, Amara trained for four years with renowned energy healer Dr Barbara Ann Brennan. Dr Brennan’s work blends psychology with an understanding of the human energy field and its interrelationship with our wellbeing. This work also informs Amara’s practice as a psychologist. Amara’s perspective is holistic and she has deep respect for how unique we all are due to our history, woundings, beliefs and physiology.
Acknowledging each person’s unique journey, Amara enjoys weaving together the skills and knowledge she has gained over the years to help people with the challenges they are facing.
